I am back with a new item! It is a very special edition of the vintage A. Augis love charm. However, most versions (90%+) were made in France with French text, this was a special edition that was made in Italy with Italian text. It is an officially licensed piece by A. Augis - not a knockoff.
Made by French jeweller Alphonse Augis in the mid-20th century, the Augis pendant has resurged in popularity recently due to a celebrity spotlight(s).
The writing is based on a poem by Rosemonde Gérard called “L’éternelle chanson” or the eternal song, in English. The line in the poem is “And as every day I love you more; greater than yesterday, less than tomorrow.” The writing on the charm is “(+) Di Ieri (-) Di Domani” which translates to: greater than yesterday, less than tomorrow.
The gold is solid 18k and weighs 1.69 grams. The diameter is 1.4cm. Normal wear given its age, however I had the backside polished up a bit to make it look nicer. The face is pristine and has a nice patina. There are multiple hallmarks including one for gold purity (750) and another for A.Augis.
